Civil War period large folk art carved whimsy super patina 6 3/4 t

I from time to time buy these or see these at Civil War shows sold as prisoner of war related . This example is very large and has lots of great age. A cage with moving ball and star design. Measures 6 3/4 by 2 1/4 square . Nice star at each end as well. Great dry surface mid 19th century 1850-1860 .
